We're rolling over & Roll Tide!

Nolan started daycare this week. Yes, I cried. Although, the ladies at his daycare say that he is a very happy little baby and is going to adjust well. This is good news because they told me that the other baby his age is not doing as well as he is. Of course, they could just be feeding me a line of BS to make me feel good and could be saying the same thing to the other baby's parent. However, each time Ryan has picked him up he has been smiling away awhile playing in the bouncer or on the play mat. Having Ryan see him happy there helps to ease my mind and assure me that he is having fun awhile we are at work.

Today has been a train wreck of a day. Thank goodness we have off work tomorrow for labor day! Nolan woke up the other day all kinds of snotty. Today there was also sneezing and he is extremely fussy. Thankfully, he doesn't have a fever, but I blame daycare germs on this minor cold he is experiencing. He has had some happy spurts today, but there has been a lot of crying. A lot. My poor baby.. :(

Aside from him not feeling too well this weekend, he had an exiting week! On Wednesday I got to pick Nolan up from Ms. Ginnies because Ryan had back to school night at his school. We were upstairs in his room playing on his play mat and he rolled over for the first time! If anyone would have seen me I am sure they would have been laughing. I was Nolan's biggest cheerleader (and will always be his biggest cheerleader!). Right after he did it, I was speed dialing Ry and sending him my pathetic pictures because I was too caught up watching and cheering to take good ones. He was a proud daddy!

On Saturday, Nolan turned 3 months old! That is a quarter of a year...I feel like he was just born. How is he already 3 months old??? He wasn't too smiley for his pictures (probably because of his poor cold) and he wiggled a lot more than in the prior months photo shoots. ;) He is so much fun and it has been amazing thus far watching him grow up. So many more milestones ahead!! What I wouldn't give to be able to stay at home with our little guy. Stupid bills.

During my many nighttime feeding sessions with Nolie, I am on pinterest looking at all kinds of fun projects and recipes I want to try. Once we get this whole schedule thing working and I feel a little less tired I plan to actually do them and will show the results! Working 40 hours a week is crazy! I think I was shut off around Wednesday and just put on auto-pilot to get through the rest of the week. POWER TO ALL WORKING MOMS! Nolan still is enjoying waking up every 2-3 hours at night. His 3.5-4 hour gaps have not been seen since we went back to work. Hopefully they come back soon...or we can skip them and go straight to 5 hours!

First day of daycare

Home from daycare...a little tired ;)
(Ryan is not a fan of overalls...so he always turns them into shorts..)

Look what I found!

Nolan officially found his thumb this week. After a lot of sucking his whole hand, our hands and multiple fingers at one time, he has finally found his thumb. Although it was only for a short period of time he seemed content. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I am happy that he will be able to soothe himself, but at the same time the pacifier has been great and when he gets older we can at least take that away from him. Hm, I guess we have a lot of time and in reality Nolan is going to be the one to decide which one he likes more anyways. For now, watching him on the hunt for his thumb and finally finding it is not only entertaining but adorable.

This was my last week of half days at work. Tomorrow I have an 8 hour day... Oh. My. God. I have no idea how I am going to be tomorrow, after all it is Nolan's first day of daycare and it is my first day functioning without an afternoon nap. I think we are all ready for Monday. His backpack is packed and ready to go, his supplies are already there and now all I have to do is dread 8am when I drop him off. I know that he will be perfectly fine, but I wish more than anything that we were all lucky enough to be able to stay at home with our little munchkins. Someone told me that in other countries women get the full first year of the baby's life on maternity leave to be with them...and it's PAID! So basically I just live and work in the wrong country. A fear I have is not only that I will miss his important milestones (which they have already been instructed not to inform me of; my baby will have all his firsts on evenings and weekends with his mommy and daddy there to see it happen regardless of when they may have really happened) but also that I will not be able to keep up with breastfeeding. I plan to try my very best to provide it for him, but am scared it will be too difficult. Please wish me luck!

On a happier note we had another fun week! I am seriously picture crazy! I probably take way too many, but I really can't get enough of his little face. He is growing way too fast. He has recently out grown all of his 0-3 month clothing and pajamas. I have rearranged his drawers with 3 month and 3-6 month clothing. Nolan has quite the wardrobe and I am looking forward to dressing the handsome little rugrat in his next new batch of clothing.   Time for a photo dump, enjoy! :)

Afternoon tummy time session!

Nolan spent Monday, Tuesday and Friday with Grandma!

Watching the O's game on Pop Pop's lap!

Ready to go to dinner for Aunt Kim's birthday!

Nolan and Colby playing after Kim's birthday dinner.

Colby wanted to eat Nolan..haha!

Being a ham for the camera.

Colby was very intrigued by Nolan. I happened to capture him with his finger in Nolan's mouth. I am sure that Nolan tried to eat it in response.

On Sunday we went to my dads house for a family dinner. We had spaghetti and meatballs/sausage and made my mom's sauce. It was delicious. Thanks Uncle Ryan for making the yummy dinner!

Nolan is always up for a cuddle session with his auntie. Also, thank you Aunt Lainy for making the yummy dinner!
I should have gotten a picture of Nolan and Pop Pop cheesing it up. My dad had Nol grinning from ear to ear. It was so ADORABLE!

These bills won't pay themselves...

Back to work we went...

On Monday Ryan and I both went back to work. I am working half days for the first couple weeks which has been really nice thus far. Last week Grandpa watched Nol baby a few days and Mrs. Ginnie watched him the other days. Nolan was fine, of course. And I don't think I was too bad, but that is probably because of who was watching him. The real test will come on August 27th when Nolan goes to his first day of daycare... :(

Thank goodness for Mrs. Ginnie! She is watching Nolan 2 days a week for us and that way Nolan will only be in daycare 3 days a week. As much as I would give to be able to stay at home with Nolan, it was a good week. Nolan got to play with grandpa, pick tomatoes with Mrs. Ginnie and he made a new friend, David! David is the other adorable little boy that Mrs. Ginnie watches. He took to Nolan so well and I think they are going to be best buddies.

This week was a really big week for Nolan because he also had his 2 month checkup. He is weighing in at 12 lbs 9 ozs (50% for weight) and he is 24 3/8 inches long (95% for height). Guess he takes after his daddy! He had to get 2 shots :( but he handled them so well. I expected a full on cry, but really it was just a short fussiness that cuddles and a bottle cured!

On Friday, when I picked up Nolan we went to Ryan's school and Nolan got to meet all the teachers and staff that Ry works with. Saturday we dropped Chuggins off at the groomer and we went to the amish market. Last night Nolan decided that he want to wake up every 2 hours and so at our softball games today he decided it was an opportune time for him to catch up on his sleep awhile we played.

Currently there is crockpot lasagna being cooked (thank you pinterest) and we are preparing for the week ahead. Hope grandma is excited to spend a few days with the little boy this week!

Oh, and incase you were wondering..I have not yet won the lottery.

Thanks for watching me grandpa!
