Dear Nolan - 18 Months

Before I begin Nolan's 18 month post, I just want to share an exciting giveaway from Mix & Match Mama!!!!! Love her blog; it is full of creative ideas, yummy recipes, hosting parties and posts about being a mommy of 2 adorable children. Happy Holidays :)

Dear Nolan,

6 months celebrating in Disney and now 1 year later, 18 months watching Mickey on Disney Jr!
Wow, a year and a half and it just keeps getting more and more exciting!
You are hilarious these days. You talk so much and are starting to put together 2 word sentences, "uh oh ball", "dada shoes", "airplane up". You talk nonstop and give us a play by play of what you are doing, even when you toot!
Your current obsessions are your "colors" (crayons and paint), bubble baths and Jake. You insist we read you the book 'Bear Stays Up for Christmas' every night so that you can find Santa. I actually have the book memorized and recited it awhile daddy read it to you tonight. Your favorite song is 'It's Tricky' by Run DMC and you request it every time we are in your room. We have a dance party to it daily, on repeat for about 20 minutes.
You are once again the pickiest eater ever. You will refuse mostly every food except pizza. We are really struggling to get you to eat veggies. You recently started saying no to pouches which were our saving grace. You love "dippy" which is basically dipping your food into anything. I plan to get you to like dipping carrots into ranch, but I guarentee you will just eat the ranch. We will try that this week...stay tuned. This past week was Thanksgiving and your favorite food on the table was mashed potatoes. I actually don't know that you even tried anything else we gave you. So picky!!!
You love to sleep. You no longer take a morning nap, but your afternoon nap is 2 1/2 hours and we have to wake you up from it. You still go to bed at 8pm and you do it with no problem. Normally we can just say the word bed and you turn and start to walk to the stairs. You seriously love to sleep and it is great!
You are learning your ABC's and how to count! Your favorite letter is 'B' and number is '8'. I don't know why, but they are! You also enjoy when we sing "Row, Row, Row your boat" and "Old McDonald" or as you say, "E, I, E, I, O".
You crack me up. Tonight we were driving in the car and listening to Christmas music (of course!) and "Santa Claus is coming to town" was playing so I was singing it to you and talking about Santa to which you just started saying "ho, ho, ho!" everytime the song said Santa! I loved it and couldn't stop laughing. It was a fun car ride!
If you get hurt you ask for a kiss from mommy and then say "all better". Sometimes it takes more than a kiss, but I don't mind the cuddles. You are slowly toughening up.
You are growing up way too fast. You have quite the little personality (and temper). You are my handsome little boy and I love you to pieces.
Love,
Mommy
xoxo
