Dear Nolan - 15 Months

Dear Nolan,

Happy 15 months big boy! The month of August was a huge month for you. The icing on the cake was that on August 26th you decided that you can walk more than the 3-4 steps you had been comfortable walking. You officially “took off” and are confident in your strides! It is adorable to watch your tiny little self totter throughout the house. Although, I know it has only been a few days, but it is already a whole new ball game. Your daddy and I are going to have our hands full with you, but we are so excited for everything in store ahead. I think the top of our list involves teaching you how to play baseball. Who needs to learn colors and ABC’s anyways. ;) Just kidding… but seriously.

This past month you learned where your belly, nose, head and ears are. You know that a dinosaur and lion say “roar”, cow says “moo” (or as you say, “boooooo”) and duck says “quack, quack”. You love to talk and learn new words. You now say, “oh toodles” when you watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. You love to dance. Daddy turns on music and you grab his phone and just start dancing with it. You try to do somersaults on our bed. You have actually done one on your own, but you think it is hilarious to just fall face first into the bed. You get so excited to see Chuggins and love to tackle him. Chuggins is so good with you, probably because you feed him everything.

You love to eat. Bananas are still your favorite. You also love pancakes and waffles. You will not eat vegetables.

We tried to start weaning your bottle to a cup, but you love your bottle. You will not drink milk from a cup even though you love drinking water from a cup. We kind of gave up on the cup transition, but I guess we will start that up again soon.

You understand so much. Daddy and I have had multiple conversations where we don’t think you are paying attention and depending on what we are talking about you will chime in with a word that associates. For example, your daddy was telling me about a new hat he ordered online and out of nowhere you say “hat” as if to inform us that you are paying attention.

We have taken you to a few classes at the library and you love them. You listen to the stories and dance along to the songs. Last week the song involved clapping and snapping our fingers. You clapped along and then studied everyone’s fingers and tried to figure out how to snap. Amazing.

You amaze me with your touch and feel flash cards. You have almost learned all of the words in the set.

I love watching you interact with other children and watching your personality develop. You are such a loveable little boy and you continue to grow way too fast. Your giggles, oh your giggles, they truly light up the room. Daddy makes you laugh so hard that you get hiccups. He always says that it was worth it to hear such laughter from you.

Mommy and daddy love you so much!

Love,

Mommy

xoxo
